Mercedes Benz G63 AMG Rent in Dubai
Mercedes Benz G63 AMG Rent Dubai, experience the automotive legend at first hand: for 35 years the G-Class has been combining the comforts of a luxury car with the sportiness of an off-roader. As part of an authentic G-Class experience, our instructors show you the insider tricks, which you can then put into practice on the off-road track. Relish the challenge! Since its introduction way back in 1979, the Mercedes-Benz G-class—better known as the Geländewagen or G-wagen—has become an off-road icon and a certified status symbol. Apparently, the lumbering luxury SUV’s specialized skills and astronomical price fascinated the speed freaks at AMG, Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance division. Enter the 563-hp G63 and the 621-hp G65, two frighteningly quick and insanely expensive twins that function primarily as enablers of macho braggadocio. While their horrible handling and choppy ride could only appeal to masochists, those qualities only increase their mystique. Most people don’t understand the illogical appeal of these absurd anachronisms. As for us? We get it: It’s a G thang.
Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is a luxury off-road vehicle with a military heritage that was designed for the rugged outdoors.Fitted with a 5.5 turbo litter V8 engine with an AMG Speedshift seven-speed auto transmission. The 4-wheel Electronic Traction System includes a synchronized transfer case and three electrically-engaged differential locks.
The Mercedes-Benz G Wagon is part of our fleet where luxury meets the great outdoors. The great thing about the G-Class is that it is not only an off-road vehicle but it is loaded with standard luxury features such as a leather interior, premium wood trim, HDD navigation system, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking assistance with camera, dual zone climate control, bi-xenon headlights.
Passengers are surrounded by tall glass windows, with a good perch ahead over the hood. The seats themselves are quite nicely formed and this newer versions of the G-Wagon has plenty of power on tap. Top-notch upholstery and trim, with heated-and-cooled seats, a heated-steering wheel, and a leather-padded dash. The Mercedes-Benz G Wagon you see here is the car you’ll drive off in.
But it’s the G’s swagger on the street that matters most here. From the thundering exhaust to the rifle-bolt door locks to the vault-like kachunk when shutting the doors, the G63 is an aural delight. Put the seven-speed AMG automatic into Sport mode, tickle the throttle, and let every Prius driver know the well-heeled antichrist has arrived.
Despite the initially odd driving position with limited fore/aft seat travel and the upright windshield in your face—a design characteristic we found to be highly vulnerable to ice and spray buildup in winter weather—it’s easy to get comfortable in the G63. The plush leather seats are comfy and supportive, as well as heated and ventilated. And there’s the full gamut of Benz’s latest amenities, including auto stop-start capability for the engine, a new instrument cluster and driver-information display, a central COMAND interface, and several driver aides, such as blind-spot monitoring, parking assistance, and adaptive cruise control.
Not that many G63 drivers will explore the full extent of its abilities, but there are still three locking differentials for off-roading, a low-range transfer case, and minimal overhangs for steep inclines and declines. This is a vehicle that was initially designed more than three decades ago, with live axles at both ends and the interior packaging of a shipping container. Despite more than 120 cubic feet of interior space, the cabin is narrow, legroom is limited, and the rear seats are perched, stadium-style, high above the front row of occupants, greatly diminishing headroom for those in back.
The powertrains in the G63 and G65 are impressive exercises in brute force, and we applaud AMG for its use of large-displacement engines in both the twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 G63 and the twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12 G65. Both pair with a seven-speed automatic transmission that is too eager to seek higher gears at times but shifts quickly, preventing it from feeling too clunky. Those who want a top-heavy SUV with either 563 or 621 ponies pumping through a structure that was first designed 40 years ago will get their wish here. Both the G63 and G65 carry the same powertrain and drivetrain components for 2018. While Mercedes has already announced that the next-gen G63 will get a 577-hp 4.0-liter V-8, the company has not yet released details on the inevitable G65 version. In a straight line, the performance G-class SUVs are blazingly quick. The eye-opening speed of a charging rhinoceros comes to mind. The vehicles’ cornering abilities are closer to those of an elephant, however.
The interiors of the G63 and the G65, like the exteriors, are an exercise of mil-spec utilitarianism dipped in luxury. Rather than the warm, welcoming, swoopy cabins that greet passengers in many of Mercedes-Benz’s other vehicles, the Gs’ interiors are made up of the straight-edged geometric shapes you’d find in a military vehicle—which is what the G-class originally was, after all. Many of the surfaces are covered in quality materials, but there are still plenty of hard-to-the-touch areas; the large front-passenger-side grab bar is a reminder of what this vehicle was originally designed to do. Although the narrow interior and stadium-seating layout restrict space for passengers, trick rear seats open up plenty of room for storage. Whereas most SUVs have second-row seats that fold down to create a level load floor with the cargo area, the G-wagens’ elevated second-row seats sit on top of that load floor.
